What is forest bathing?
Shinrin-yoku (Japanese: 森林浴, forest bathing) is a health-promoting practice of connecting with
nature that originated in Japan. It involves mindful, slow walks during which we take in our
surroundings with all our senses. The benefits of forest bathing are confirmed by numerous
scientific studies on the impact of nature on human health.
Where did the idea for the cards come from?
We created the Forest Power Cards "Forest Meditations" for everyone who loves nature — and
also for people who need a bit of extra inspiration and encouragement to explore what nature
has to offer. Forest bathing doesn't require expensive equipment or special skills. All you
need is a favorite green spot and the willingness to "immerse" yourself in it. This set makes
it easier to start — and to keep going. It comes from our own experience as shinrin-yoku
guides, and we hope it brings you as many beautiful moments as it has brought us!
How do you use the Forest Meditations cards?
There's no single way to use the cards. To start, we recommend a simple path: go to a forest,
park, or other green space. Sit comfortably and draw one card. Following the instructions,
carry out the activity, and if you feel like it, draw another card. Each card will invite you
to a different activity. You can take the whole deck into the forest and draw a new card
every so often, prepare cards that suit you in advance, or use the cards together with
someone close to you. You'll find more techniques in the booklet itself and in our free
guide.
What activities do the cards offer?
The activities were created by experienced forest bathing guides. They're based on using your
senses, relaxation and visualization techniques, and exploring your surroundings. All
activities are described in detail in the booklet, so you can immerse yourself in nature
right away.
Are the cards suitable for children?
Absolutely! They can be used by children alone, in pairs, or together with the whole family.
In our experience, even preschool-age children easily enter the world of forest bathing (for
example, as a break during forest play). Children love drawing cards and discovering new
activities. It's a wonderful way to introduce children to mindfulness, all in close contact
with nature!
How durable are the cards? Are they safe to use in the forest?
We chose thicker, laminated cardboard for both the cards and the booklet. This makes them more
resistant to moisture and dirt. The booklet is spiral-bound, making it practical and
comfortable to use! We also included a fabric pouch that holds all the elements of the set.
Who is the illustrator?
The artwork on the cards was created by illustrator and tattoo artist Aleksandra Świder. Each
card has its own illustration that captures the spirit of its activity. It's worth
mentioning that, at a time when AI-generated art is everywhere, Aleksandra's illustrations
are 100% hand-drawn.
What about shipping and returns?
We aim to ship your cards within 24 hours of receiving your order. If for any reason the set
doesn't meet your expectations, just get in touch with us, and once we've agreed on how to
return it, send the cards back to us (in reasonably good condition). You'll get your money
back as soon as the package reaches us. If a card ever gets damaged or lost, we'll gladly
send you a replacement free of charge, you only cover the shipping cost.
